This video still gives me goosebumps even after watching it 50 times. I shot this in Austin TX and just finished editing it. Tim Kennedy is a true fighter and American hero. Much thanks to Tim K. and Nick P. with the video.

George: Wrestling with Resistance

December 4, 2009 | (comments: 0) Read more …
George: Wrestling with Resistance is a 32 minute Documentary Film that parallels the sport of wrestling with the inner city struggle. The filmmaker walked away from the editing room after 2 months of post production to mediate on the film, and entered into his studio. For 3 weeks he collaged 24" x 36" printed stills from the footage to create 'motion montages.' He then finished the film with this unique approach to filmmaking. Above are the finished collages.

The Gang Runs a 5k

June 23, 2009 | Random | (comments: 0) Read more …
This is a short film for a 5k "skirmish" in Hartford last Thursday. This wasn't your typical race as it involved steep inclines and stairs, but then again, we're not your typical runners as our training usually consists of a quick video game session followed by a round of beers. Honestly, going into this thing without any training wasn't as bad as it sounds. The 5k is the perfect distance for "wannabe" runners like myself to not train and still be able to make the finish line.

So we were pretty happy finishing somehwere in the 50 percentile, especially when watch the video and see where we started.

Update to Project "Marissa"

Just thought I'd post an update to this project as I've been on a vector art journey the past couple of weeks. So far I'm pretty happy with the results and look forward to finishing the design work up. The next step... a little bit of hair.

Gopher it - Intro

Intro scene for Gopher it. This was a highlight film we created for the 2005 Springfield College Wrestling Team. It commemorates the seasons best matches, moves and memories. We're currently working on a site dedicated to the 4 feature films created for the SC Wrestling team including the much anticipated return of Daryl and the Gang. For now, just enjoy the trailer.

Marissa

Here's a project that, as the title states, is a little bit of old and new work. I actually created the original digital file for this about 3 years ago? The picture was taken from a "Cheesy Sweater" Christmas Party back in school (thank you Ft. Pleasant for a beautiful venue).

This was originally created in photoshop and was not created in a vector program. I didn't want straight lines that a vector program usually makes. I like the way you could get a wavy line by being able to manipulate each pixel rather than the smoothly (what the hell does that mean) feel of a vector line.

tl_files/pixela/content/blog/2009/m_close.jpg
With all that being said, I am now stuck recreating the image as a vector file (I knew that was going to come back to bite me in the ass). But the plan is to get this to a usable size to print on my next Snowboard!

This is step 1 in the project. I'll have updated posts about the evolution as they come.
